Bio:
Raumati no Waitaha, Te Kahui Maunga, Te Wai o Hua, Ngati Te Ata, Ngati Mahanga and Tainui descent is a Traditional Maori and Planetary Healer, Poet, Storyteller and Ceremonialist devoted to the Healing of Papatuanuku, the Earth and her People.
Amiria is the visionary behind Te Whare o Rā, a grassroots Wānanga specializing in traditional modalities of healing, Indigenous knowledge transmission and decolonizing practices. With a past steeped in the fields of multimedia, dance, mentoring youth, facilitation and community leadership.
Amiria grew up in the Forests and Rivers of Aotearoa, building a connection to plant spirits from a young age. She has learnt from some of Aotearoa’s most prominent Māori Healers the Arts of Romiromi/Mirimiri, Soul Retrieval, land healing and facilitation of ceremonial spaces with an acute awareness on Ancestral and intergenerational healing.
Amiria's vision is to birth a healing sanctuary and higher space of learning in Taranaki to honor the arts of our cultural practices, rites of passage for young people, prayer and cultural exchange. Nourishing medicine as a safe haven and base for global exchange between Indigenous nations as we work to reclaim ancient ways of thinking, seeing and healing.
Amiria is preparing to host Te Wananga o Kahukura Awatea the second Indigenous Gathering of Nations in 2026 on Te Ika a Maui, the North Island of Aotearoa which will host spiritual knowledge keepers, shaman and healers from around the world for four days of ceremony and prayer.
